What we've done for Lliswerry

A few highlights. The full record is on Our record.

Parks

New play areas and training kit

New play areas and training facilities at Black Ash, Moorland and Lysaght's Park, with upgraded facilities at Oliver Park.

Your money

Alternative budgets when needed

When needed, we put forward a costed alternative budget to hold down council tax rises while protecting the services you rely on.

Community

No One Left Behind Fund

We created a £500,000 a year anti-poverty fund for the whole of Newport that puts decisions in the hands of local people. This year we secured an extra £250,000 on top for Broadmead Park and Moorland Park.

Safety

Pont Faen shops

We pushed for more police patrols and dispersal orders at Pont Faen, and anti-social behaviour reports have fallen from a peak of 15 a month to almost none.

Becoming a registered party

Lliswerry Ward Matters Independents

We are applying to the Electoral Commission to register Lliswerry Ward Matters Independents as a political party, so voters see our name on the ballot paper in May 2027. We stay exactly what we have always been: local, independent and answerable only to Lliswerry.

Out and about

Street surgeries

We bring the surgery to you. Look out for the orange banner around the ward, or contact us any time for a one-to-one.
